OK a quick guide to the Ascension Cites. The most important thing to remember is that with every level of ascension, you will start over with buildings!!!
With the Ascension you will automatically get these buildings at a level 12:
Workshop, Blacksmith, Stable, Farm, Quarry, Mine and Level 11 Relief Station.
Now on to the actual building…First things first, if you don’t have a Knights hall you can’t use your knights for the construction speed, so that should be the first building. Next, make sure you reassign some knights to actually use!! No point in having the hall if you don’t have the Knights there huh?
Now to the rest, the point of the first few levels is to choose your “minor blessing”, there are now 9 to choose from, so pick carefully, you will be able to change them later, but at a price. (as usual, more gems to spend) So pretty much we are looking to get you to the highest level as possible, right now that is Level 3, so just the fastest buildings are needed, don’t worry about setting your city up yet.
The fastest way I have found so far … Me personally … is get your Castle to level 6 and your Wall to level 4, you will have to alternate Wall, Castle, Wall, Castle… you get the point?
Then you should build 2 Barracks, you need to get them to level 4 for some of the other single buildings later. But they will need to be higher for the gem values later too.
Next would be the rest of the ‘inside’ buildings, Alchemy Lab, Watch Tower, Rally Point, Embassy and DON’T FORGET THE MARKET!! Remember the first 2 levels are just to get started, you won’t use the market but each level of market is worth 7 gems against the next Ascension level.
Next is the mass amount of cottages, yes most nothing but cottages!! They are the fastest building buildings in you cities. Get all of your cottages to level 7, shouldn’t take long
Now you can go the Field, DON’T FORGET THE FIELD!! (Edit-This does NOT apply to the Factions Fey and Briton, Druid only)
You have room for 3 buildings out there, a Druid Barracks and a Druid Apothecary,
You have to build 1 of each, but you can build 2 of one of them, I chose the Barracks, either one is fine for the first 2 levels because remember, you start over when you Ascend to the next level!
Now that should get you very very close to the requirements for leveling up, and if you have an active alliance and you use the ‘Share a message to your alliance chat blah blah for help’, then you should be able to get through one level in about 5 hours….
A break down in Gem values
23 Cotts to level 7 at 3 gems each = 483 Gems
2 Barracks to level 7 at 3 gems each = 42 Gems
All single buildings 6 of them to level 7 at 7 gems each = 294 Gems
2 Barracks and 1 Apothecary in the field to level 7 at 7 gems each = 147
You add them up? Only comes out to 966 right? The rest come from your Castle and Walls
Castle at 7 gems to level 6 = 36 Gems (don’t forget it starts at lv 1 so only 5 upgrades)
Wall to level 4 at 7 gems = 28 Gems for a grand total of 1029 Gems (I found this number is good only for the first level of Ascension, the next two levels the Gems required increase)
Don’t forget to have fun!!
In your Fey and Briton cities, if you get all of your buildings to at least a 7, then you should have enough Gem value to get the next Ascension level. However, now that there is an ‘Increased City Value’ Throne Room card, that changes a few things, you may not need to get all buildings that high.
